Infos

The project :

After "Next Time We Go Sublime", Supercilious comes back with a new project called "Viva El Protocole, My Friends!". A dozen of artists, solicited by affinities as much musical than friendly, have remixed an extract from the album of this Tours artist. This cross play is appeared as a double CDR 3"including, each one, an unreleased track and a selection of remixes.

The other remixes are available for free on the mp3 page site : here

The artists :

Objectile : a long date partner of laudanum (album "System:on" at monopsone), Objectile is the solo project of PE, member of Near Death Experience. Here, he reveals his ethnic influences and all his know-how of studio meticulous man.

Velma : the Swiss trio revisits "Dust Didn' T Answer" all in singing exercises. This exercise of appropriation announces their next album to be appeared in September 2005 on monopsone (www.velma.ch).

Sofus Forsberg :not enough known in France, Sofus Forsberg carried out a splendid album on Jenka label. This remix should encourage you to discover the talents of this Danish artist whose electronic universe is crossed by diaphanous voices (www.sofusforsberg.com ).

Alban Punition : indefatigable dabbler, Alban Punition is the co-composer of 2 pieces of "Next Time We Go Sublime" and also forms part of the live formation of Supercilious. Its remix takes along the original piece to the borders of ambient and the new-wave, finally exploding it in an addictive jungle.

Yorgl : This old fellow-traveller of Supercilious (also member of the Heafi collective) has lived in Belgium then in Italy. After insane experiments (in particular the "yorgl mathematic generator", program which generates sounds starting from mathematical formulas), Yorgl is presented accompanied by 2 scratcheurs on scene, while waiting to deliver its 1st album (www.incipit-electronica.org).

Stuntman5 : Christian Bagnalesta, aka Stuntamn5 (2nd album to appear at the beginning of 2005 on Effervescence) and member of Cinelux, customises "Marion Spike" with a good amount of shoegazing.(www.stuntman5.fr.st ).

Stupid Dog : In addition to these activities of DJ and within Vox Populi (album "As I Lay Dying" - Jarring Effects - 2003), Stupid Dog is a fellow-traveller of Supercilious, from Superstupid split (Heafi - 2001) to its participation on "Next Time We Go Sublime".

Red Shift : active in various metal groups and hardcore (Cromwell O, ADN...), Ponchito currently prepares his first disc.

Laudanum : the standard of the monopsone stable, after the success of "System:on", transforms "Energy Has Forgotten My Arms" into soundtrack of Impossible Mission. Return awaited for the end of the year 2005, with a new album with multiple surprises (www.laudanum.fr.st ).

Schengen : This Bristol duet was already present for the 1st reference of the label with a split 10"in company of Abstrackt Keal Agram. From now on member of the Make Mine Music, Schengen quietly continues to distil his electronica with 80’S references on various compilations, while waiting for its 1st album finally (www.schengen.freeuk.com ).

Feubo : Current producers of drum' bass (album soon with Kantize) and follower of the crossings between breakbeat and rock'n'roll (he collaborated with Portobello Bones for example), Feubo revisits "Ideal Son In Law" in heavy-metal version ! (http://kantyze.phpnet.org).

2tokiislands : the duet from Le Mans develops its project in total improvisation and according to a ludic precept (all their sessions are available to request). By taking the party to be based in the shade, they let us wander in a musical universe made of various noises and cottony atmospheres (www.2tokiislands.com ).

Virga : In love with the icy atmospheres and the strange sounds, Lionel Maraval, aka Virga (Eïdos album published on Unique Records), has bent over the bedside of Marion Spike, to insufflate to her his black thoughts (www.uniquerecords.org ).
