While keeping his talents of electronics engineer, Matthieu Malon has plugged in guitars and taken mike again to compose his more succeeded and most personal album to date, really in phase with his soul and inspirations (musical but also literary and cinematographic).

Fruits of lonely work in his home-studio, the plentiful compositions of the French guy from Orleans city have been treated by nimble hands of PE, historic accomplice of laudanum, which has contributed to give them, volume, subtlety and power.

While choosing a dynamic and resolutely dense format (9 tracks, 40 mn), laudanum is positionning at the crossroads of New Order (evident wink on Dopamin) and The God Machine (poignant Birth School Work Death).
Like that, Decades strikes some threatening firebrands (Losing Focus), furious and dark atmosphere as Unkle, or on the contrary, some vibrating compositions which carry towards dancefloor (Bada Bing), when some tunes remains totally obstinated (Dead Champions). With inventiveness of Philippe Entressangle on drums, collaborations of Poney Club (for brass parts) and a cellist, a track as We Are Not An Open Book offers a perfect synthesis between melancholy and enthusiasm.

Just balance between noisy-pop and electronic musics that laudanum will present on stage in a rock band (singing/guitars/bass guitar/drums/machines).
